Common Questions

What is a dry tile saw?

With fully-integrated dust collection technology, this innovative design combines the power of a top of the line tile saw with a powerful cyclonic vacuum. The result is a dustless tile saw that cuts clean, efficient and precise, with no water, no slurry and virtually no heat, even with hard materials.

Is the 7" Dustless Bench Top Tile Saw portable?

Yes, they have folding legs and lightweight construction for easier transport to different job sites.

Does cutting tile create a lot of dust?

Tile cutting tools, but they make a lot of dust, which isn't safe. Wearing a silica dust respirator helps keep dust out of the lungs. But there's a better way to maintain clean work areas: IQ Tools vacuums. An investment that is well worth it.

Overall the saw is very good

Overall the saw is very good. There is little to no dust after your cuts. It does leave little chips of the tile around your work area though. The quality is good on the saw itself but the fence is very flims. That would be my only valid complaint. Im surprised because the rest of the saw is quality built.

Iq228 tile saw

This saw machine works great but I have problems with guard. My biggest problem is the roller wheels for the table. They cheaped out. And the table is a lil wiggle. But I have to give it to them. The motor and cuts really dense porcelain. I like it so far. Hopefully it hold up I’m doing a new construction job with 8 full bathrooms. All 2x4 tiles

Good but has its drawbacks

Finally pulled the trigger on one of IQs dry cut saws. Right out of the box aside from the otherwise quality build, the blade guard, thumb screw snd riving knife are garbage and sent me off to the hardware store. Firstly the thumb screw wouldn’t hold the blade guard, it’s not standard 1/4 bolt, so I had to modify the guard to accept a 1/4 bolt that I had to drive to go get and use a wing nut to hold the blade guard. The saw throws chips, I was a little unpleasantly surprised. That said, aside from the somewhat chippy cuts, it doesn’t create so much of a mess that I wouldn’t purchase it and I will use the saw as it saves me time and energy and money. But don’t be fooled. It does throw a good deal of chips. And the riving knife which holds the blade guard is a joke. It’s adjustable, and if it’s not perfectly lined up which takes more time, the tile won’t clear the blade. So all in all I see some real design issues that should have been rectified. Because of the chips I’m
Inclined to actually use the guard and that whole design is complete BS garbage. Aside from that I’m not dealing with water and I’m able to deal with the mess with regular vacuuming and as for the chippy cuts, they are usually hidden and I’m cleaning em up with a pad. I give the saw 3 stars. Love to give it 4 but that whole blade guard riving knife is just unacceptable. Time will tell if I learn to love the saw.

Game changer!

This saw is such a game changer. Iv used this saw for about 3 years. Very little need for my wet saw now. I might need the wet saw on glass , some natural stone, and very large tiles. Other than that this is my main saw Some people complain about the cuts produced on this machine but if you do it right and brake the blade in you’ll get very nice cuts, with the diamond hand pad your cuts will be near perfect

If you are a tile contractor you definitely need this saw. I still use the wet saw sometimes , grinder and manual cutter. Been using this every week will save you alot of time.

Solid purchase

I must admit i was skeptical to purchase this because i own the larger saw and do not like it. But....this saw is great its light you can cut anything on it, its great for anything really, we keep it right next to where we are working and its just so awesome. The gauge is pretty cool too. It cuts straight and square and its great to have to finesse a cut and you can keep it in your working area.

Bad engineering

The tile chip at the end of the cut, watched the video from manufacture and they know they have this issue. There isn’t a clamp on guide so you can make multiple of the same cut. The guide they put on there is for 1”,2”,3”etc those exact cuts hardly ever happen. I would like to return this saw because I can’t use a tool that chips the tile on every cut. Surely not paying $500 for a tool I can’t use.

Engineering sucks

I want a return order for this saw, I have installed tile for over 35 yrs this saw is not a good saw chips the tile at the end of cut, I have watched the video on this issue and what they suggest does not work. There is no fence for cutting exact same size tiles which makes no sense. I’m not paying $500 for a tool I can’t and won’t use.

A must have

This saw is definitely something every installer should have in their tool box. Comes in very handy on those smaller projects that would otherwise require you to go up and down stairs to get to your wet saw. It's also a game changer when cutting tile in the middle of winter when there isn't a heated garage to set up the wet saw.

the saw fully gives its results, and most importantly, you sit still and the work goes by itself, I recommend

Wet no more!

Game Changer! I was able to set-up this saw in my bathroom and lay 500 pieces of tile in about 2 days. It cut so smooth and didn't chip the tiles up and best of all not everything including me was soaking wet.

Well worth it.

Great saw, saves us hundreds of steps a day, especially on those 2nd story jobs. Perfect for subway/ medium size tile, cut is not a wet saw but nothing a diamond pad can’t clean up easily. Not a saw for every job but the ones you can use it on, it’s awesome.

Love IQ. Own many of there products

We live and work in New England. This saw was a finger saver. With cold winters in the single digits and freezing water in our wet saw water tray, this saw has completely allowed us to do all our cuts inside. Not only keeping us from freezing our hands but speeding up the overall time of the job. Perfect saw for back splashes and small tile jobs.

Does it cut porcelain tile?

Contractors D.

Yes, the 7" combo blade will cut porcelain. If you are working with very hard porcelain, you can switch to the 7" hard material blade which is also included in this kit.
