Lawn Edgers, Gas and Battery Powered
Shaft shape decides how an edger handles day to day work. A curved shaft edger keeps the blade close to the operator's feet. That makes it easier to follow a walkway or driveway edge without leaning or reaching. A straight shaft edger trades some of that maneuverability for reach and stability on longer, more open runs.
Some straight shaft power heads aren't locked into one job. ECHO's PAS system and Husqvarna's combi units let a single engine or motor swap between an edger head, a trimmer head, and other attachments. Buy one power source, add heads as the work calls for them, instead of buying a separate tool for each task.
Fuel source works the same way it does across the rest of this lineup. Gas edgers run longer between fill-ups and handle thick, overgrown edges without slowing down. Battery edgers trade some of that runtime for a lighter tool with no mixed fuel, no pull cord, and no exhaust to manage.
ECHO covers the widest range on this page, spanning both curved and straight shaft edgers along with PAS attachments and the parts to keep them running. Husqvarna adds battery and gas edgers of its own, including combi units. Dewalt covers cordless edgers and universal trimmer attachments, and Greenworks rounds out the battery side with its Optimus platform.
