Construction Levels for Accurate Leveling and Layout
Length is the first thing that separates one level from another. A longer box beam level spans a wider surface in a single pass, which matters most on foundations, walls, and anywhere a short level would need to be walked and re-checked repeatedly to confirm a true line. A torpedo level trades that reach for a short, compact body that fits into tight spots a full-length level can't reach, useful for plumbing pipe, conduit, or quick checks in confined spaces.
Mason levels are built specifically for outdoor block and brick work, with a more rugged frame that holds up to the abuse of a job site better than a standard level. Digital levels add a numeric readout on top of the standard bubble vial, giving an exact angle reading rather than a visual estimate, and some models add Bluetooth to log or share that reading directly from the tool. Magnetic levels hold onto a stud, rail, or piece of rebar without being held in place by hand, which frees up both hands for marking or adjusting.
Stabila supplies the widest range of levels on this page, spanning box beam, torpedo, digital, and mason styles. Sola and Keson add more box beam, torpedo, and digital level options. BIHUI, Dewalt, and Primo Tools round out the remaining levels.
