Vinyl and Laminate Flooring Tools and Adhesives

Adhesive has to match what's being installed, not just be strong in general. VCT adhesive is formulated for vinyl composition tile specifically, resilient flooring adhesive covers sheet vinyl and similar resilient materials, and wood flooring adhesive is built for the movement and weight of solid or engineered wood. Using the wrong category can mean a bond that fails under normal foot traffic even though the adhesive itself is high quality. Application method varies too: some adhesives spread wet and require the flooring set into them before they cure, while pressure-sensitive adhesives are designed to bond once the flooring is pressed down, without a wet working window to manage.

Installation tools handle the cutting and fitting side. A multi-floor cutter uses a guillotine-style blade to shear through laminate or LVP planks cleanly without generating dust, which a power saw can't match for a quick, quiet cut. Tapping blocks and pull bars seat planks tightly against each other without marring the edge, something a hammer alone would damage. Miter cutters handle trim and molding pieces separately, cutting clean angles to match the flooring being installed.

Roberts supplies most of the adhesives, applicators, and installation accessories on this page. POWERTEC and Crain add more rollers, clamps, and miter cutting tools. Bullet Tools and Marshalltown cover multi-floor cutters and replacement blades, and Better Tools and FILA round out the remaining knives and cleaning products.
