Truck Deliveries

Large or fragile items must be shipped via tractor-trailer to ensure secure delivery. Contractors Direct can facilitate truck delivery anywhere within the contiguous United States. Truck delivery is not available to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. International truck delivery is available to Canada. Freight orders shipping to islands within the contiguous United States do not qualify for free shipping.

Delivery Requirements

To receive a freight delivery, the following must be in place at the delivery address:

  • Commercially zoned address with tractor-trailer access.
  • Forklift or loading dock on-site. Liftgate service is available for an additional fee if neither is available — see Section 2.
  • Accurate receiver contact information. Inaccurate information may result in delays and additional fees.
  • Signature required after package inspection. Do not sign until you have inspected the delivery.
⚠ No Loading Dock? If your delivery address does not have a forklift or loading dock, you must request liftgate service or residential delivery before your order ships. Contact us at 1-800-709-0002 to arrange.

Additional Delivery Options & Pricing

The following add-on delivery services are available. Contact us before placing your order to confirm availability and arrange service.

Liftgate Service $150 Flat Rate
Required when no forklift or loading dock is available. Lowers freight from the truck bed to ground level. Restrictions may apply — contact us to confirm before ordering.
Residential Delivery $200 Flat Rate
Available for deliveries to residential addresses that meet carrier requirements. Restrictions may apply — contact us to confirm before ordering.
Delivery Appointment No Charge
Schedule a specific delivery window with the carrier. Available upon request — contact us to arrange.
Need one of these services? Always arrange liftgate or residential delivery before your order ships. Adding these services after a shipment is in transit may not be possible and could result in delays. Contact us or call 1-800-709-0002.

Transit Time

  • Transit time — the time elapsed between ship date and delivery date — is typically no more than 6 business days within the contiguous United States.
  • Transit time varies based on the item, manufacturer, ship-from location, and mode of transport.
  • Transit times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Once a freight shipment is picked up, Contractors Direct is dependent on the carrier and cannot be held responsible for unforeseen delays.
  • We will advocate on your behalf with the carrier to resolve any delay as quickly as possible.

Freight Delivery Checklist

It is critical to thoroughly inspect your delivery upon receipt before signing any paperwork. Use the checklist below every time.

⚠ Inspect Before You Sign Once you sign the carrier's delivery receipt without noting damage, your ability to file a damage claim may be significantly limited or forfeited entirely. Take the time to inspect thoroughly — carriers are required to wait.

Upon Delivery

  • Check the exterior packaging for any signs of damage, crushing, or tampering.
  • Check the product itself for visible damage.
  • Verify the full contents of the delivery — ensure no components are missing.
  • Note any damage or irregularities directly on the carrier's delivery paperwork before signing.
  • If severe damage is present, refuse the delivery and call us immediately at 1-800-709-0002.
After Delivery If you discover damage after the carrier has left and you did not note it on the paperwork, contact us as soon as possible. While options may be limited, we will do our best to assist. Prompt reporting improves outcomes.

Terminal Pick-Up

Terminal pick-up allows your freight to be held at a carrier's local freight facility for you to collect at your convenience, rather than scheduling a delivery to your address.

⚠ 3-Business-Day Pick-Up Window Terminal pick-up items are held for a maximum of 3 business days from the date they arrive at the facility. Failure to pick up within this window may result in additional storage and re-delivery fees charged to the customer.
  • Proper identification matching the purchaser's name on the order is required for pick-up.
  • For some factory-direct items, we may be unable to determine the terminal address prior to shipping. We will provide this information as soon as it becomes available.
  • Follow the Freight Delivery Checklist above when inspecting your items at the terminal before leaving.
6

International Freight

International truck delivery is available to Canada. Freight items shipping to all other international destinations require a freight forwarder of the customer's choosing.

  • Contractors Direct does not partner with or provide referrals for any specific freight forwarding service.
  • International freight orders do not qualify for free shipping.
  • Providing inaccurate or incomplete delivery information may result in delays and additional fees for which Contractors Direct will not be held liable.
