Is there any add on kit, or new wheel type to keep water out of the wheel bearings? With new OSHA regulations on silica, we now have to use water when cutting, to keep the dust down to a minimum. The concrete and water slurry is seizing the wheel bearings. Is there any remedy for this, or are we forced to purchase a wet cut saw and abandon our GC55?

The wheel bearings should be well sealed by the factory. Long term use can result in build up and seal deterioration. There is a wet cutting kit. part number-- 238926From Norton Clipper--"The solution is simple-- clean off the saw once ever few weeks. Either light pressure washing or just brushing the area between the frame and wheel will work. Like anything a little maintenance goes a long ways."

How many feet can a blade cut before changing it

Like any other equipment, diamond blades tend to wear out over time. However, it does not really have an expected usable period or expiry date due to the many different variables such as quality of the blade, material being cut through, cutting technique, etc. Please consult with the manufacturer of the blade you are interested in purchasing to check the RPM, the quality, and the blade's function before buying one to make sure that you can optimize it at its fullest capacity.

Is there a blade guide on the back of the saw so you will know where the blade is to be set down?

There does not appear to be a guide on the back of the machine. The easiest way to know where your blade will be set is to mark the line you are going to cut, place the blade on the line before cutting and adjust to center your saw. Once your saw is centered, you can drop the front pointer and that can act as a forward guide and then cut straight.

Can a Husqvarna Green Concrete Diamond Blade part # 542756101 fit this machine?

No, due to the unique triangular arbor on the Husqvarna Soff-Cut blades they will not work with the GC55.

The drill is great. Packaging it came in was damaged. Could have used a more protective packaging. Other than that it great.

Do I need to buy adapters to fit different size drill bits? What is the max size drill bit this machine will handle?

This will fit only drill bits with a 1-1/4"-7 threaded attachment. You can buy adapters to fit any core bits that do not have that attachment. This core drill can do up to a 10" diameter core drill

What the warranty on this core drill? Hour of operation to cool down time ratio?

DM 280/DM 340/DM 650 core drill motors have a 2 year warranty. Wear items are not covered under warranty. The cool down time ratio is dependent on the drill bit, material being drill, force used to drill, etc. There are too many variables to give an exact cool down time ratio. To cool the core drill, run the machine unloaded for a minute or two to cool the motor. This will also blow dust and dirt out of the motor, ensuring longer life for the machine.

What do you suggest for an anchor bolt for horizontal drilling?

Drill a hole for the expander/anchor at a distance of 335 mm (13.2”) from the centre of the hole. Bolt down the base plate. Check carefully that the expander is secured correctly. The bottom plate can be adjusted to the surface by using the leveling adjustment screws. Use the feed handle.

Can the drill be used separately from the stand?

The drilling machine can be separated from the stand but it does not have a handle. It is meant to be mounted to the stand for drilling but technically the motor is a separate piece of equipment.
