Aquabar "B" floor and tile underlayment is a highly effective moisture vapor retarder for interior construction applications. Consisting of two layers of Kraft paper laminated with asphalt, Aquabar "B" is a non-reinforced 30/30/30 duplex type Grade "B" paper.

Don't use.

Stay old school and use the 30lb asphalt roofing paper. This is what was used originally when our floor was installed. After a month is when the hardwood began cupping. Had a inspector come in and this was the leading cause for the cupping. Eventually, the flooring company replaced the hardwood floors at their cost and used the proper moisture bearer "30lb asphalt felt". The aquabar provides no cushion to the wood and subfloor constantly creeked. So save your time and don't buy this stuff. There is a reason why the asphalt felt has been used for decades, it works.
