Can a battery operated drill work with it?
by Garland Hudgens 11/27/2018 7:06:44 pm
It can be used with a cordless battery drill but it must be 18 volts.
I'm using a 20 volt cordless drill and it leaks around the nozzle holder and the steel tip. Is an electric 18 volt 3/8" better to use?
by Tony 12/10/2018 11:18:33 pm
This is to be used with a 3/8" drill and if you are using a cordless electric drill it must 18 volts. The higher voltage might be causing the issue.
Is there a attachment so I can do a floor so that mortar will not spill out when it is tipped over sideways
by Royce Peacock 7/31/2020 8:05:45 am
No, there is no attachment. We recommend keeping the hopper on a slight angle when working on floors.

Great tool to make the job go faster!
by jackie -
We bought the OwensCorning Cultured Stone and after attempting to tackle the mortar joints the old fashioned way(I thought there had to be something out there to help). I found this Quikpoint Mortar Gun and it worked out great. We used it with a cordless screwgun and it worked good, but was a little heavy, reduce your weight by using a corded one or buying the all-in-one. We had to mix the mortar a little loose so just play around with the consistancy to get it right. The great thing is you can move the tip horizontally or vertically, so you never have to tip the gun. The only CON we found is that sometimes the bucket would want to tip to the side when it was full. We had help from a pro and he'd never used a mortar gun and he thought it was really neat. Makes the job go a lot faster!!! I would highly recommend this Quickpoint Mortar Gun.

Fantastic Product

Got this for Christmas and just used it today to repair our stone seawall damaged during the flood. What a great and fantastic tool. I did eighty feet of wall in two hours, which would have taken a day with a trowel. Just unbelievable on how great it is; well worth the price just in the saving of time. Don't hesitate to buy; you'll be amazed.
Great product!!!

I purchased the mortar gun on October 22, 2014 and it arrived at my residence on October 24, 2014, with free shipping!!! Upon opening the box I immediately noticed the quality of the gun. It came pre-assembled with the medium steel tip already in the gun. It was very easy to hook up the the 3/8's drill with no modifications to the support arms. I used the mortar gun that weekend completing almost 180 square feet of stone veneer!!! I would recommend this product to anyone, well worth the price I paid!! Just make sure that you screen your sand before mixing your mortar, small stones will clog the auger in this unit. One downfall to the unit was the manufacturer failed to include the other three, steel tips that were advertised with the gun. However, a quick call to Contractor's Direct and they shipped off the tips the same day. Great customer service......... great tool!!!
Grout bags are history with me.
by Dennis Rodgers Siding -
Grout bags are history with me. I received the quick point gun, attached it to my cordless drill and over the course of 3 days we ran 150 pounds of grout thru the gun. Absolutely, trouble free. It is very important to mix the correct consistency of mortar, keep the gun parts clean and lubricate it according to specs. I do remodeling and have a significant amount of work scheduled with plans to use the Quickpoint gun instead of a grout bag. Thank you for an excellent product.
Works great!

Works as advertised. Thankfully it came fully assembled, as the instructions for assembly would have frustrated me. But that says more about me than the product! If you have any projects of decent size this is a must, as is a CORDED drill; a cordless will not cut the mustard here.
