Instructions (for maximum durability)

  • 1: DIP IN WATER before drilling and about every 5 seconds during drilling (more often when going thru harder materials). We find dipping in water is more effective at cooling the PorcelainPlus bits than spraying.
  • 2: FIRM PRESSURE: Let the bit do the work - Do not apply excessive pressure. Place the drill bit on the specified mark, apply pressure, listen for a slight CRUNCH, and start your drilling process. Drill straight into hole and do not wiggle drill.
  • 3: USE PROPER DRILLING SPEED: Speedbit: 2,300 rpms and slowed down while breaking through the hole. NOTE the higher speed for the Speedbit as most other spear point bits recommend slower speeds of 400-800 rpms.
  • 4: Handheld Drills Only.
  • 5: Do not use dull or damaged bit.
  • 6: Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during use and when handling bit.

Spade bits

These bits work great! We install many custom shower enclosures, and these bits work on most types of tile or glass.
