Compaction Equipment for Soil, Asphalt & Paver Work — Plate Compactors, Rammers & Rollers
A base that isn't compacted right shows up months later, in a shifted paver or a cracked slab. This category covers what stops that from happening: reversible and single direction plates, rammers for trench work, and rollers for paver and asphalt jobs.
The key is matching the machine to the material and the space.
By material. Granular soil and gravel call for a plate compactor. Clay and cohesive soil need a rammer, the impact breaks through dense ground better than a plate can. Asphalt and pavers want a rubber-pad plate or a dedicated roller to avoid marking the surface.
By space. Trenches and tight utility runs favor a rammer. Open lots and driveways favor a larger reversible plate, since it covers more ground per pass.
By brand. Wacker Neuson leads our lineup, with parts and service easy to find. Husqvarna and MBW both have strong followings for daily use. Bartell is a common pick for durability at a lower price point. Weber MT covers paver rollers, while Mikasa by MQ and Multiquip round out the lighter rammer and forward plate options.
