Big slabs change the whole job. Once you're working with gauged porcelain panels or anything over three feet, a standard tile cutter just doesn't have the bed length or support to keep the tile from cracking mid-cut, and that's really the whole reason this category exists.

There's a real debate among installers here, and it's less about brand and more about method: score and snap with a manual cutting system, or move to a wet rail saw for the whole cut. Manual systems are faster for straight cuts and easier to move between job sites, a rail saw gives you more control on curves and notches but takes longer to set up.
