Diamond Core Bits for Concrete and Masonry Drilling

A core bit cuts a clean round hole by grinding away a ring of material instead of drilling straight through it. That's what makes it the right tool for anchors, conduit runs, and utility penetrations where a standard drill bit would struggle or chip the surrounding surface.

Wet or dry is the first real decision. Wet bits run water through the core to cool the segments and flush debris, which extends bit life and speeds up the cut. Dry bits skip the water entirely, which is better suited to indoor work or smaller jobs where managing runoff isn't worth the setup. Reinforced concrete adds another factor. A bit built for plain concrete can bog down or burn out fast when it hits rebar, so bits rated for reinforced material use a different segment bond to keep cutting through steel without losing the edge.

Husqvarna and Core Bore cover most of the range here, spanning small diameter bits for anchors up through larger bits for core drilling rigs. Norton Clipper, Zenesis, and Alpha Tools add more options across wet, dry, and reinforced concrete bits, while Diteq, MK Diamond, CS Unitec, Diamax, and Pearl Abrasive round out the rest.
