Knee Pads for Tile & Flooring Installers – Strap-On & Rolling Support
Ask any tile setter what wears out first on the job and a lot of them will point to their knees before their back. This category covers what's out there to deal with that, from strap-on pads you wear all day to rolling systems that take the pressure off entirely.
ProKnee's built a real reputation here, made in the USA and sized custom in some cases, with wear parts you can replace instead of buying a whole new pair every season. Rubi Tools takes a different approach, an ergonomic design, which a lot of guys with existing knee issues prefer. SuperiorBilt's Platinum pads are a solid mid-range option built specifically for tile and laminate work, and Better Tools covers both a comfort pad for general use and a neoprene version with extra thigh padding for carpet installers running a knee kicker.
Then there's the rolling side of things. Racatac and Kneel It both make systems where you're not kneeling directly on the floor at all, you're supported on a rolling platform that moves with you. It's a genuinely different debate from strap-on pads, less about comfort and more about whether you want direct knee contact removed from the equation entirely. Strap-on pads keep you mobile and let you get up and down easily, which matters on a job with a lot of movement between spots. Rolling systems reduce the strain more over a long day, but they take some getting used to and don't work as well on uneven or cluttered floors.
Fit matters more than people expect too. A pad that's too loose shifts around and does you no good, one that's too tight cuts off circulation over a full day of kneeling. Most of the pro brands here, ProKnee especially, offer real sizing options instead of one-size-fits-all for that reason.
