Concrete Power Trowels for Slab Finishing

A power trowel smooths and densifies a concrete slab after it's been floated, spinning a set of blades across the surface to close pores and bring up a hard, flat finish. Walk-behind trowels suit smaller pours and tighter spaces where a machine needs to be steered by hand. Riding trowels cover much more ground per pass, which makes them the practical choice on larger commercial slabs where walking a machine back and forth would slow the job down.

Blade choice matters as much as the trowel itself. Float pans and float blades run first, while the concrete is still soft, to level the surface and knock down high spots. Combo blades bridge the gap between floating and finishing. Finish blades run last, once the slab has hardened enough to take a polished, burnished surface.

Husqvarna and Bartell cover the widest range of walk-behind and riding trowels on this page. Multiquip and MBW add more walk-behind and riding options, and Marshalltown supplies trowels and blades for finishing work. Rokamat and Third Coast Equipment round out the remaining trowel and accessory selection.
