Diamond Blades for Concrete, Masonry, and Early Entry Cutting

A diamond blade cuts through concrete, masonry, or asphalt using diamond segments bonded to a steel core, and matching the segment bond to the material. This is what actually determines how well a blade performs. Hard, abrasive materials wear down a soft bond too quickly, while soft, non-abrasive materials glaze over a hard bond before it can cut efficiently. Therefore, the bond needs to be the opposite hardness of what it's cutting. Wet versus dry cutting is the other real decision; separate from blade choice itself. Wet cutting keeps the blade cooler and controls dust, letting a blade last longer and cut faster. Dry cutting skips the water and mess but runs hotter and wears the segments down quicker if the cut runs too long without a break. Early entry cutting adds a timing element on top of that. Cutting joints too early risks raveling the surface, while waiting too long defeats the purpose of controlling where the concrete cracks as it cures.
