Solid Gold™ Resin Dressing Stone for Diamond Blade

Use Solid Gold resin dressing stones to unleash the true cutting power of your worn diamond blades, core bits, hole saws, grinding wheels, and other diamond tools.

Features

  • Larger size: 6-1/4" x 1-5/8" x 1-3/16"
  • Abrasive resin exposes fresh diamond to revitalize cutting performance
  • Brings dull, glazed over diamond blades, core bits and drill bits back to life
  • Dressing stones can also be used to smooth rough tile edges without discoloring tile

Dressing Stone for Diamond Blade

  • The cutting efficiency of any diamond tool will diminish over time
  • Tile blades and core bits can easily become dirty, clogged and glazed-over when cutting through hard porcelain and other tough materials
  • Dirty diamond blades and core bits can cause tiles to rub, bounce, burn or chip while cutting
  • Solid Gold dressing stones effectively remove any glazed-over debris from the tool's diamond matrix and expose clean, sharp diamond that is ready to cut again "like-new"

How to Use a Dressing Stone

  • To dress a diamond blade, begin by making one shallow (~1/8") wet cut into a Solid Gold dressing stone
  • Slowly deepen the cut until the entire diamond rim makes contact with the resin dressing stone
  • Repeat this process once or twice to fully clean and dress your diamond blade
  • To get the most use out of your dressing stone, do not cut any deeper than the total diamond segment height (rim height) of your blade or hole saw
  • Diamond blades should be dressed every 40-50 cuts to maximize cutting efficiency and prolong blade life
Questions & Answers
7 questions

how do you dress a diamond blade?

To dress a diamond blade, simply make one or two small cuts into a Solid Gold dressing stone. Do not cut any deeper than the total diamond segment height of your blade. The resinous stone will effectively clean the blade's diamond matrix and remove any glaze or debris to expose fresh, sharp diamond that is ready to cut "like-new".

My blade was cutting great but I tried stacking a few tiles to speed things up and now it cuts really slow and is chipping a lot. Will this stone help?

Inspect the cutting rim of your blade - if diamond is still visible along the edge of the blade it can very likely be dressed and restored.

will this stop my blade from sparking?

Sparking can be caused by many factors including a dull and dirty blade, improper water flow/heat dissipation, the material being cut, and the rate at which you are cutting. Always use a sharp, freshly dressed blade to achieve the cleanest cuts possible. Don't force the tile, let the blade do the cutting.

How do the Solid Gold dressing stones work?

A blade's cutting rim can easily become clogged and glazed-over. Dirty blades can cause tiles to rub, bounce, burn, or chip. Solid Gold resin dressing stones effectively remove glaze and debris from the blade's cutting rim and expose clean, sharp diamond that is ready to cut again "like-new". Many dull or "dead" diamond blades may still have plenty of life left in them - ALWAYS TRY DRESSING YOUR CONDEMNED DIAMOND BLADES BEFORE TOSSING THEM AWAY!

Do you dress blade with water on?

Yes, you must have the water running while you dress your diamond blade with a dressing stone.

Great dressing stone

by Blagoja -

I'm constantly using this stone, mostly for keeping my blades sharp and on occasion knocking down some chipped surface cuts for better looks. Highly recommend this stone, Contractor direct house brand dressing stones and their house brand diamond blades which I have equipped all of my tools with are a true winner in cost vs performance ratio.

Dressing the blade

These work awesome as long as they are used frequently to prevent rounding of the edges.
