Questions & Answers
5 questions

Does it take the same size cutting wheel as the big cutter?

Yes the Montolit Minipiuma uses the same cutting wheel as the Masterpiuma.

Is this cutter suitable for cutting glass tile?

You can cut glass tile with this cutter, however, glass is a brittle material and you will likely see chipping at the cut edge.

A wet tile saw can usually provide a cleaner cut edge for glass tile when used properly.

Are the measurements in metric or inches?

The Montolit Minipiuma measurements are in metrics.

I am trying to cut sheets of one inch mosaic ceramic hex tile. I need to create an edge for a border. Will this cutter be able to create a clean edge if I use the Mosakit pad?

Yes, the mosaic kit pad will prevent the tile from sliding and will allow a clean cut.

Where can I buy replacement parts for this montolit minipiuma?

Excellent small cutter

by Jay P -

Great small cutter especially when working in small bathrooms. Easy to maneuver snaps tile clean. I have heard some people complain that the measurements are in metric, however, I don't see how this is an issue when cutting tile especially max 14" or 36cm.

Little spring that engages breaker is a problem

by dave

I've owned this little cutter for about 3 months now. It was awesome for porcelain, ceramic, mosaics, glass subway... you name it. Then the spring that engages the breaker to pop down started malfunctioning, and now the breaker only flips down half way, leaving me to finish engaging the breaker by hand. Ive tried tinkering and tightening the spring but haven't had any luck. Im hoping i can find a new spring replacement

Minipiuma for the win

by Charles

This little Montolit does the job like nobody's business! It cuts smooth and straight. The carrying case is a great way to keep it well looked after in the work rig.

Awesome snap cutter!

by Pete

This cutter is worth every penny and more. We just tiled a large shower, and 2 bathroom walls and did 99% of our cutting with this cutter. We cut ceramic subways and porcelain mosaics for the floor. This saw cuts mint and takes up very little room. This will definately be our go to backsplash cutter. This is our 3rd Montolit and we have zero complaints.
