how do you dress a diamond blade?
by ricardo 10/20/2015 1:23:32 pm
To dress a diamond blade, simply make one or two small cuts into a Solid Gold dressing stone. Do not cut any deeper than the total diamond segment height of your blade. The resinous stone will effectively clean the blade's diamond matrix and remove any glaze or debris to expose fresh, sharp diamond that is ready to cut "like-new".
My blade was cutting great but I tried stacking a few tiles to speed things up and now it cuts really slow and is chipping a lot. Will this stone help?

Inspect the cutting rim of your blade - if diamond is still visible along the edge of the blade it can very likely be dressed and restored.
will this stop my blade from sparking?
by ripper 11/3/2015 11:22:40 am
Sparking can be caused by many factors including a dull and dirty blade, improper water flow/heat dissipation, the material being cut, and the rate at which you are cutting. Always use a sharp, freshly dressed blade to achieve the cleanest cuts possible. Don't force the tile, let the blade do the cutting.
How do the Solid Gold dressing stones work?
by Tom 11/19/2015 5:48:22 pm
A blade's cutting rim can easily become clogged and glazed-over. Dirty blades can cause tiles to rub, bounce, burn, or chip. Solid Gold resin dressing stones effectively remove glaze and debris from the blade's cutting rim and expose clean, sharp diamond that is ready to cut again "like-new". Many dull or "dead" diamond blades may still have plenty of life left in them - ALWAYS TRY DRESSING YOUR CONDEMNED DIAMOND BLADES BEFORE TOSSING THEM AWAY!
Do you dress blade with water on?

Yes, you must have the water running while you dress your diamond blade with a dressing stone.

worth it
by mdarfeces -
purchased along with a T3 Razor for porcelain and an Alpha Vetro for glass. the gold is longer than the raimondi stone and requires fewer cuts to successfully dress the blade. worth the few extra bucks for the bigger size and longer lasting resin. A+
must-have for any real tile setter

so many novices out there wasting money on new blades after theirs becomes glazed over. guys, use a dressing stone!!! seriously, diamond is STRONG and will LAST A LONG TIME. dressing your blade is standard maintenance. i can understand that manufactures usually skip over this important step to get you to buy more blades, but seriously try dressing your blade if it is not performing well before you trash it. these solid gold stones are the best dressing stones i've seen so far and i've been layin tile for over 22 years. not sure what they put in these things but they work exactly as they should

A must have for glass tile
by James
I purchased this along with a glass tile blade for my kitchen remodel. I had about 130 sq. ft. If glass tile to install. It works great for cleaning the blade. As soon as I felt the blade getting “draggy” or not cutting as easily, I would make a quick pass through the dressing stone. The difference is immediately noticeable. I highly recommend this if you cutting glass tile.
No more chips

Works great. Hit your blade with this dressing stone and your cuts on porcelain tile have little to no chipping.
