I searched the net at all the tile sites and forums and finally decided on the Tomechanic. It is very impressive out of the box. Appears well made and very solid construction. I am tiling my whole house except the bedrooms with a very hard dense ceramic porcelain 20 x 20 tile. I was concerned it would be able to break it clean. First try it cut it so clean you could not tell the factory edge from the one I just cut. I kept cutting the pieces smaller and smaller until the were about 1\" wide. Cut clean and almost perfect edges every cut. The double breaker is great. The small close one on the thin pieces and the wide one is great on the wider pieces. Boy is this going to save ALOT of time and mess over cutting all of those tile with a tile saw. It is rather heavy, but I don't consider this a con at all.
i would buy this product again, 12/29/2009

I bougth the smaller version since I don't plan to use tiles no larger than 12\" x 12\". On small 1\" corner cuts is a hit and miss from my end to have clean cuts when splitting the tile. However on small ½\"parallel cuts or larger cuts I get really clean breaks. I think that I am not doing it right on the small corner cuts since this is the first time I use a tile cutter. I like the smooth sliding action of the cutter due to the ball bearing in the assembly. My only issue is the angle guide. I was not able to use it to cut angles for smaller tiles like a 6\" x 6\". Larger 12 x 12\" tiles I have no problem. I wish that Tomecanic would make a even smaller version with the same features to deal with such situations.

Blows Rubi away !, 12/29/2009

Cuts Glass, Large format, Ceramic and the Hardest Porcelain. Easy to see from both sides of the cutter. Has 2 breakers so you can cut a 3/4\" strip or break an 18\" tile on a 45 degree in the middle of thr tile. This cutter has replaced my wet saw on most jobs. I use a 4 1/2\" grinder for odd cuts. I have tried the Rubi in the past and if you only do large format it's OK but for all around prformance the Tomecanic is the best cutter I have used. For the record, I have over 30 years in the business.

One of the best snappers I've ever used in thirty years' tile setting. Very easy to use, great scoring ability and very durable. Not a light weight tool for average do it yourself-ers but perfectly suited to casual use also. Easy to replace spare cutting wheel came with mine.

I saw this cutter at a tile show before I purchased it simply amazing clean break each and every time only one wheel necessary score and brake porcelain with ease. Price is a little steep but you get what you pay for!

GREAT CUTTER FOR PORCELAIN TILE, 12/29/2009

great tile cutter. Cuts diagonal cuts with few flareoffs. Works well with porcelain tiles. Hard to use on mosaic tiles. Only negative is that it doesn't come with a case.
Cuts large porcelain with ease, 12/29/2009

I purchased the 35\" cutter to cut 24\" polished porcelain on diagonal. It scores and cuts very easily with very few flareoffs. The best cutter I have ever used. I am going to purchase the smaller model for everyday use. Excellent cutter.

I've bought two of these snappers in the last 12 years. The best snapper on the market. Period. A must have for any serious professional.

I am a 10 yr tile installer. My first encounter with this cutter was a bit rocky. I installed 13\" marazzi porcelain on brick pattern (straight cuts). I had many flare offs that required the use of nippers. The Tomecanic did save me many trips to the wet saw. With more experience, this cutter will become more effective . As the right touch is necessary. I would reccomend this tool to any pro as a time saver. Overall the tool is effective for \"hidden cuts\". Just dont leave the wet saw at home.
