Armeg PTB Carbide Tile Drill Bit | 3/16"

I drilled 10 1/4" holes in ceramic for a shower door and then one into my porcelain shower. It could not finish the one hole in the hard porcelain. I used the correct drill RPM, constant water spray. For the price, I surely expected better. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but that is not true in this case.

These bits are by far the best for drilling any type of tile or stone. The only thing is that they break easy if dropped or not cooled properly. Store well and spray with excessive amounts of water and you will be happy with the results.

Only place I would ever use for drill bits.

Best bits you can get hands down, use water while drilling and they will last a long time. I normally lost them before they wore out.

I install shower doors and run into porcelain tile a lot, these bits are great you can get about 20 holes drilled with each bit. I will be using these bits for years to come

Bought this bit in the 3/16 size to install a Kohler shower head slide bar. Fast, quick, clean holes for the first three holes (did one for practice in scrap tile then needed two to mount). The bit was toast after that. The end shaft bent and the tip was pretty gnarled up. Guess if you need that quick hole drilled, it's great. But, don't plan on adding this to your drill bit collection- it won't last that long. At least mine didn't.

these bits really do drill hard porcelain tile quickly and without chipping or fear of shattering the tile. i used a pump up garden sprayer to provide a constant stream of water to the bit. first two holes into the wall were fairly quick, then next two into the shower curb were fast as i was able to get most of my weight behind the drill. the next 1 was a lot slower until i figured out that if you wiggle the bit a little while drilling they go in very quickly and continue to drill at a fast pace. i drilled 12 1/4" holes in less time than i've drilled one in the past. definitely worth the money.

Glazing Contractor that does a lot of shower enclosures...Porcelain tile took over where the lead tiles left off...A real "PAIN THE ..." when it came to drilling holes....AND...I tried every drill bit type I could find...NO LUCK until I discovered these and they are worth every penny...Using water and a cordless Rigid hammer drill, I got 48 holes on the first bit before I used a new one....Used a spring punch first after marking hinge holes, reamed each hole quickly with a 3/16" carbide to start and finished them off with this drill bit and water....No longer will I be dreading the PORCELAIN jobs....

I installed a shower door on grade 5 porcelain. Drilled each hole in less than 2 minutes, compared to 10-15 minutes per hole with diamond core drill bits. Excellent product. Great quality. I will recommend it to everyone.

This is a impressive drill bit which does not use percussion and it worked for the first three holes and keeping it on the mark. After that, more force was required to bore through the porcelain to the point where it cracked the tile. I had expected them to last a bit longer than that.

Installed a glass shower enclosure and needed to drill 8 5/16 holes through porcelain tile. Initially used a carbine tile bit from your local home improvement center which barely broke the surface of the tile and then just spun for 10 minutes even though I put my full 200 lbs weight behind it. Bought the Armeg bit and all holes were complete within five minutes. Granted, I had to apply a bit of pressure but certainly not the pressure I applied with the Home Improvement bit. They're a bit expensive but worth every penny.

I Bought a 1/4" PTC drill bit to drill holes in my porcelain tile shower installation. It works great. I was drilling grade 5 porcelain tile. I placed the tile in a shallow pan, poured water in so that the tile was about 1/2" underwater. Then placed the drillbit underwater against the tile and drilled ! I have drilled 8 holes and it is still working great.

Great bit for porcelain tile. Able to drill through 3/8 tile with ease. Less than one minuter per hole.

After about the fourth hole, I needed to apply more presure.

I had to install a towel rack in a porcelain tile shower. I tried three other drill bits that claimed to be for porcelain. I spent over two hours and had not drilled one hole. It took me about 10 minutes to complete all four holes with this bit. It is a must have if you are trying to drill through porcelain tile.
