Hydraulic Rebar Cutter Bleeding Instructions

Hydraulic rebar cutter bleeding instructions

If your electric/ hydraulic rebar cutter does not build enough pressure to cut or takes longer than normal to build cutting pressure, you may need to bleed the excess air from the tool. Please follow the instructions below.

  • 1. Run the tool through a few cycles to slightly warm the oil.
  • 2. Stop the tool with the piston extended, just before the piston return valve is triggered.
  • 3. Remove the oil fill plug and top the tool off with oil.
  • 4. Seal off the oil fill opening with your thumb.
  • 5. Run the tool through a complete cycle and stop with the piston in retracted position.
  • 6. Release excess air from the tool by slightly lifting your thumb.
  • 7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all excess air is expelled.
  • 8. Stop the tool with the piston extended and add oil.
  • 9. Replace the oil fill plug and tighten.
